About Denise Cummings
Denise Cummings is a self-taught abstract collage artist from Hawaii who’s currently working in New York City. Her work comes from her passion for botanicals and organic forms. She obtained a professional horticultural certification to gain knowledge and identify elements of flowering plants more deeply. With this specialty, she has designed landscapes, gardens, and interior designs. Denise has dedicated her life to creating beauty.
Denise says: “My flowers are not bound to illustrated predictability. I create them for the viewer to be intrigued, give cause for open dialogue, incubate unexpected perspectives, and a spectacular diversion.”
Denise has exhibited in Art Basel, Miami and has continuous shows in New York City and abroad.
This exhibition is part of The Yard Art Program, which features seasonally rotating art exhibitions and permanent collections across The Yard’s locations. You can read more about our current exhibitions on our blog.
