On Friday, July 26th from 6-9PM, join us in celebrating Cyan Sun by artist Ella Barnes. Presented by ABSTRKT and curated by Michelle Parisot, Cyan Sun features a series of cyanotype prints created through a camera-less photographic process.
We’re honored to host this fascinating art show, marking Barnes’s first solo exhibition, at The Yard: Herald Square in NYC. If you’re interested in celebrating the opening reception with us, simply send us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org.
About Ella Barnes
Ella Barnes is a multimedia artist whose work is informed by her beginning as an artist with painting and her eventual transition into photography. Her body of work ranges from narrative still-life to large-scale abstract prints. Her recent focus on the historic cyanotype photographic process represents a desire for the space in between mediums where light and line intersect. Her obsession with visual translations of ineffable concepts guides her work as she continues to expand her skillset and study color and composition. Employing the historic cyanotype process, Barnes created a series of photograms that interrogate negative vs positive space.
Special thanks to ABSTRKT and Michelle Parisot for bringing Ella Barnes’s first solo exhibition to The Yard. We’re thrilled to be sharing in this momentous occasion together.
This exhibition is part of The Yard Art Program, which features seasonally rotating art exhibitions and permanent collections across The Yard’s locations. You can read more about our current exhibitions on our blog.
